The YoungShits Awards are under new management.
Well, not yet. Founders Kathryn Kvas & Vignesh Seshadri are handing over control to the winner of the “final brief,” a contest where bold creatives can pitch a new vision for the event.
Here’s how we would transform YoungShits:
Script & concept: Me, Sara Kelly, Jordan Schooley
Recruiting creative weirdos, those who can turn even the shittiest briefs into campaign gold.
The new contest starts with an unconventional brief. To enter the competition, contestants suggest a brand, target, and tone of the brief. When time is up, the brief is randomly generated based on these suggestions.
Next, creatives work their magic to produce cool campaigns that answer the shitty brief.
The prize? 9 contestants win gold, bronze or silver based on the creativity of their campaigns.
The better prize? An invitation to the Shit Society — a collective of past winners. A virtual community where the chat overflows with one liners written by clever copywriters and memes designed by eccentric art directors. The society provides a space to brainstorm new concepts, find your next job, and shoot the shit with fellow creative weirdos.
